Reggae Boyz fall in FIFA rankings

Jamaica’s national senior football team, the Reggae Boyz, have fallen two places in the latest FIFA World Rankings following back-to-back defeats in their last two assignments.

The Jamaicans are now ranked 56th in the world after falling 2-0 to El Salvador in the CONCACAF Nations League on March 23 and 1-0 to Costa Rica in a friendly international three days later.

Despite the slide, the Jamaicans are still the No. 1-ranked team in the Caribbean Football Union, followed Curaçao (82), Trinidad and Tobago (93), Haiti (100) and Antigua and Barbuda (123).

The Reggae Boyz also remain the fourth-best-placed team in the CONCACAF (Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean) region behind world No. 18-ranked Mexico, the United States (24) and Costa Rica (38).

Meanwhile, Belgium remain the No. 1-ranked team in the world, followed by world champions France, with Brazil, England and World Cup finalists Croatia rounding out the top five.

Israel were the biggest movers in the standings, jumping eight places to number 84.
